Look close.  Spring is in the air!

It's been a month since my surgery and I'm finally released to take slow and easy walks outside.  My daughter walked with me the other day and she gently asked me to stop and enjoy the views along the way.  We saw a charming red robin fluently flying from tree to tree.  Some of the trees were still stripped of their leaves because of winter, but there were a few with flowering buds (pictured above) that signaled, spring is near!  These were the first signs that a new season was on the horizon and I was encouraged.

New growth.  New possibilities.

Trees, flowers, even animals that hibernate or lay dormant during winter will come alive in springtime.  In our own personal lives, the same holds true.  Everything has a season.  A right time for everything.  Suffering won't last forever.  We have the hope of a new day in our lives and the 3rd chapter of Ecclesiastes (MSG) states it so eloquently.

There’s an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth:

A right time for birth and another for death,
A right time to plant and another to reap,
A right time to kill and another to heal,
A right time to destroy and another to construct,
A right time to cry and another to laugh,
A right time to lament and another to cheer,
A right time to make love and another to abstain,
A right time to embrace and another to part,
A right time to search and another to count your losses,
A right time to hold on and another to let go,
A right time to rip out and another to mend,
A right time to shut up and another to speak up,
A right time to love and another to hate,
A right time to wage war and another to make peace.

Our prayer for you this weekend is that you would hold fast to the hope and surety of a brighter day.  Don't you dare worry about what tomorrow holds.  The battle is already won! (Posted by Renee)
