Have You LAUGHED Lately?

Have you LAUGHED lately?

Any NEW experiences lately?

When was the last time you had FUN?

The world has been incredibly serious the past year. There are restrictions everywhere. People wearing masks. Families are home more navigating school and work. New updates on the pandemic have some isolated and sheltered in place. Guess what - we are quickly becoming a nation that has forgot how to have FUN.

Humor is needed. Stress is real and it manifests in our physical bodies in different ways. It is recommended that we laugh 15-20 minutes a day. Stress is a silent killer. One way to break up all that tension is laughter.

Laughter Matters!

During Christmas I was provided the opportunity to be with my mom. Due to the pandemic it was months that I longed to feel her touch and give her a hug. We safely came together and the moments I cherished the most was hearing my mom laugh. Even during our times on Zoom, my mom will crack up laughing. She's a reminder to me - don't take life so seriously. She hasn't once complained about her sheltering in place.

Because we've witnessed so much pain and loss we can feel guilty about laughing. It might seem as if we are dishonoring our lost loved ones. It is ok to laugh. This post is not to minimize any of the hard places in life we are experiencing. As per the Mayo Clinic, laughter improves your health. Soothes tension, improves immune system and your mood. Laughter is great for your respiratory system. Smile, yes right now SMILE...don't keep that frown on your face. It costs us nothing to smile.

When you have fun (which doesn't have to cost money) it changes your perspective. We work and exist better together when we laugh. Laugh with your kids, laugh with your pets, laugh with your spouse. Laughter is FREE~

Here Are Some Ways To Have Fun:

  • Go Outside & Enjoy Nature
  • Play Board Games
  • Hula Hoop | Roller Skate
  • Dance
  • Watch Comedy | Watch A Comedian
  • Adult Coloring Books | Paint
  • Visit a new park
  • Visit a farm (pick strawberries)
  • Play Sports | Play Musical Instrument
  • Write 5 Reasons To Be Thankful
  • Hike or Ski
  • Giggle At A Newspaper Cartoon
Dabbling in experiences that bring joy reduces screen time and melts stress away. Life happens. Mistakes happen. You will spill that coffee or juice on your white shirt right before a meeting - just laugh at yourself. That keeps your connections with others authentic. (Posted by Roslyn)

We will all be healthier when we LAUGH!
