Why Is It So Quiet?

The sound of this global pandemic is SILENCE

Sports Arenas - Silent

Schools - Silent
Church Buildings - Silent

Playgrounds - Silent
Barber Shops - Silent
Libraries - Silent

There is a wave of SILENCE sweeping across our world. I truly believe this "GLOBAL PAUSE" has been provided for a reason. As my dear sister told me, we are having a Ctrl-Alt-Delete moment. It's time to hit the RESET button on our lives.

When you stop and think about it, we are grieving. I am hoping the word grief helps me understand my MOOD swings. One moment I am fully confident and the next I feel other emotions like sadness and anger. Grief looks different for all of us. But grief will always bring out raw emotions. That's why I keep saying to myself - be PATIENT.

We could be grieving the liberty of going to work.
We could be grieving the freedom of dropping our children at daycare.
We could be grieving the liberty of going to the gym or going into our classrooms.
Grieving the liberty of planning for a wedding, prom or a graduation party.
Grieving the LOSS of income, loss of a dream, loss of revenue.
Grieving the liberty of worshipping on Easter at our churches or Passover at our synagogues.
We could simply be grieving the LOSS of our routine.

There was so much taken away from us so quickly. Allow yourself to feel every emotion of this moment. But don't allow yourself to STAY there with negative feelings. We are blessed beyond measure that we have enough space in our large country to "social distance". In poorer countries, space is a LUXURY. We live in a wealthy country that WILL rebound.

Don't become fixated on the timeline of when this will be OVER (that will drive you crazy). In your moments of feeling panic/shock/sadness/anxiety/fear/despair - take a deep breath and remind yourself YOU ARE OK. Pray for someone else struggling just like you. Every circumstance is different for all of our readers, and our prayer is that you are deepening your relationship with your family but also God. Be intentional to hear His voice during this crisis. If you look closely, you can see Him at work. ~Posted by Roslyn

Psalm 46:1- "God is our refuge and our strength, always ready to help in times of trouble".
