It's our birthday month! It's just one of the reasons why I love December. This month Roslyn and I will turn 49. What a blessing! I must say, my 40's is my best decade so far. I've learned so much about myself. There's just something about your 40's that's joyful, insightful and even challenging at times. Two years ago, cancer found me. I became a part of a club that I didn't want to join. It's a diagnosis I never wanted to hear. So many people I know have overcome cancer and so many others have succumb to it. It's taken me nearly two years to share my story on this blog. I'm still moving through the cancer process but I'm so thankful to still be here! After waking up in the worst pain of my life in November 2018, Alton rushed me to the emergency room. I was quickly discharged after the physicians told me that a mass on my ovary needed evaluation by my gynecologist. That visit with my doctor never came. After passing out later that evening, the following day I ended up in an ambulance going in and out of consciousness. My daughter was home when the ambulance arrived.      I have worked in retail for 20 years and last week for the first time the fire alarm went off in the mall.  I thought for sure it was a " false alarm " so I continued to eat and enjoy my lunch.  Within minutes a senior executive came running into the breakroom where I was sitting yelling, "Get up, this is real!  Move, move, move!."  What the heck? I was trying to have lunch and now I hear a blazing alarm in my ear and a woman yelling to the top of her lungs.       Needless to say, I quickly grabbed my handbag and moved as fast as I could.  I went busting through the door she told me to use. I ran down the emergency exit stairwell as fast as I could thinking, "What in the world is going on?"  Within seconds I was standing outside the store along with other employees and customers.       We finally received the, " All is clear " announcement and I breathed a huge sigh ...
