Way to go Graduates!

A special tribute to all the graduates in 2013 I love this time of year when so many people are graduating.  Graduation time is f illed with great expectation and positive energy. The whole world and all it has to offer is ahead of you. The graduation ceremonies are a huge step of leaving the past behind and walking towards a new future. This feeling of moving forward is usually faced with anxiety and uncertainty. You are unsure of what the future holds but you have graduated to a new place. I believe that graduation should not happen only to those who are in school. One of the biggest mistakes we can make is to think that le arning stops when we leave the educational process. We must forever be challenged to learn and grow . Many of us are living " stagnant " lives because we won't utilize the creative and productive force inside each of us. Some of us need to elevate our thin king. "I am learning all the time. The tombstone will be my diplom

Has God Left Me?

Boston Marathon Bombing...3 Girls Held In Captivity For 10 years...12 Year Old Boy Stabs His Younger Sister...Killings in Sandy Hook Elementary The list can go on and on.  The headline news stories are scary.  These over sensationalized headlines leave us gasping and wondering, "What has happened to our world"? Our world moves fast and we are privy to news stories as they are unfolding.  Many times we are receiving the information prematurely.  We make up our minds quickly on who is guilty.  We read half the story and sit at the water cooler speaking confidently as if we know all the facts of the case. Are you starting to wonder if GOD has left you? Recently, a woman I truly admire for her deep faith and Christian convictions looked at me and asked, " Why does God allow these things to happen ?"  Her question has stayed with me for weeks.  I wanted to ask her that same question, but surprisingly she asked me first.  Some things are just incomprehensible

Happy Mother's Day - 2013

Going to the park! This season of life is busy, crazy, hectic and truly the most exhilarating ride of my life.  I'm talking about being a MOM .  My focus, since becoming a mother, is no longer about me (not an easy transition).  The priority and role I work at the hardest is being a great mom.  The job of being a mom, for me, is not just something I want to do "good".  I really want to excel and be brilliant at this. I realized quickly that I am not just raising two kids. I'm raising two boys on their way to becoming men.   I pray daily over them.  I breastfed them. I've cried at their bedside.  I've consoled them when they laid in a hospital bed. I'm in awe of the smells that come from them.  I hate to see them in pain.  I laugh, dance and play with them.  I shirk at their annoying comments to each other.  I scream when they don't listen.  I've sat through hours of baseball so they can see, feel and know I support them.  I secretly enjoy

Ready to enjoy the weekend! Excitement. Pure Bliss. Exquisite. Peaceful. Those are just some of the words I can use to describe our girls weekend on last week.  4 best friends + perfect weather = The most amazing time! How can I sum up a weekend that we wait for all year long?  Just think about it....  No kids.  No husbands. No schedules.    Roslyn and Kwani catching up Just three days to catch up, eat like crazy, and soak up some sun.  We start the weekend with hugs, pictures, and long talks.  We weren't in our resort room long before the conversations started to emerge.   Late nights and early mornings were the order for the weekend.  We were so grateful to have this time together because great friendships are good for the soul .  Our relationships should be developed and nurtured through good and bad times.  It's similar to our relationship with Christ. This year's trip was a little different for me.  It was better than year's bef
