I've never enjoyed.....

It's hard to believe that it's almost time for Thanksgiving.  I love this time of the year.  Food, fun, family and Christmas shopping.  (Need some Black Friday shopping tips?  Here you go! )  What could be better? We traditionally gather together with a large sampling of our family members.  Everyone under one roof is loud from the football games playing on the tv, kids playing games, and the rest of us reminiscing and catching up with each other.  Seeing cousins, uncles, and aunts, that you haven't seen in awhile is such a joy.  The agenda for the event is simple. Bring a dish. Say a prayer of thanks. Eat like tomorrow may not come. We have a traditional southern Thanksgiving meal.  However, the other day I realized, there's some traditional items I've never enjoyed .  Some would say it's a tragedy but I would say, why add something new to the menu?  If you think I'm missing out, leave a comment...

Fall into Him!

Fall in Los Angeles (2013) It's hard to believe that Fall is upon us.  Wasn't it just yesterday we were saying, "5, 4 ,3, 2, 1, Happy New Year"!  One thing I've learned along my life journey is that time waits for no one.  Whether you're ready or not, Fall is here and we must say goodbye to the long, sweltering days of summer.     I recently studied the cause of seasonal changes.  It's more than just a change in temperature.  Seasons are the result of the Earth's yearly orbit around the sun and the tilt of the Earth's axis.  The closer we are to the sun, the warmer the weather.  The further away we are, the colder the temps.  What a metaphor for life!  If we changed just one letter in the word s-u-n, it would be the word S-O-N. Seasons in our life occur the same way it occurs in the atmosphere around us.    Floral blooms in Springtime     Spring -The time in o...

Fun Fall Friday

Image
A recent trip to Kentucky inspired me to embrace the new season of Fall.  The weather was crisp - a chilly 46 degrees.  The array of colors sprawled throughout the city, with the changing leaves was breathtaking.  It appeared as if someone took a paint brush and delicately painted a canvas for all to enjoy.  During my morning run, I saw many commuters driving into work.  They jumped out of their car not stopping for a moment to enjoy the view I found mesmerizing . Florida stays green all year, so I enjoyed being nestled into true Fall weather.  The crunch of the leaves while running made me giddy inside - how about you?  What do you enjoy about Fall weather?  What Fall fashion piece is a "magical must have" for you?  For me, it is a pair of leather riding boots. Enjoy a few photos from Louisville, Kentucky! (Posted by Roslyn)

Fall Into A New Season

Image
Harvest Time in Fall A new season is upon us.  What's not to love about cooler temperatures and less humidity.  Living in South Florida you really only have two seasons-hot and less hot.  But indeed, I welcome Fall with great anticipation.  The time will change in a few weeks and we will fall back one hour.  My early morning workouts (6am) will have brighter skies instead of complete darkness.  Days will become a bit shorter but we look forward to leaves changing, college football and Pumpkin spice coffee.  If you have a garden, Fall is also harvest time.  Your hard work to tend to your seeds during Spring and Summer allow you to have a bountiful harvest in this new season. What is new in your life?   A new relationship, new duvet cover for your bedroom, new idea/strategy or maybe even a new remodel in your kitchen.   Whatever it is, don't bring the past season into your new season.   God has given each da...

Fall Into Something New

Image
Fall is in the air .  I am currently in Alabama where the temperature is a "refreshing" 46 degrees.  I love this time of the year.  The air becomes drier and the temperatures will soon drop.  As you enter a new season , it's always time to change it up.  Put away the summer clothes and pull out the cardigans, long pants and boots. ~ Most people enter a new season the same way they did the previous season.~ A week ago I went to get my routine hair wash when my hairdresser asked me to try something different.  I agreed. She's been my stylist for 14 years so I knew I could trust her.  My mouth dropped open when I started to see my hair falling on the floor.  She was giving me an updated haircut. I am always reluctant to try something new. All I can say is that I am SO happy for my new haircut.  It's fresh, edgy and I feel thankful for " falling into something new ". So what will you do ...
