Set Your Intention

For over a decade I have practiced yoga. I have learned over the years that yoga is more about breathing and focusing my thoughts than it is about stretching. I enjoy yoga so much I have a private teacher every Sunday morning (in case you were wondering my family and I attend church on Saturday night). My instructor, Patricia, always starts the class by saying; "Set your intention for today". That statement used to confuse me; I really had no other intention than finishing the class. That statement, even today intrigues me-"Set your intention for today". We are always rushing through life and going through the motions. Wake up, go to work, take the kids to school, cook the dinner, go to the grocery store, etc. We never stop to INTENTIONALLY think about what we are doing. Throughout our summer vacation last year, I set aside little bits of time to listen to God. In nature, his sovereignty is visible through the chirp of the birds, roar of the mountain stream or in the stillness of the morning dew. I’ve found that each day Christ gives vision and tactical steps toward destiny. He is truly giving Kingdom strategies in this season. I didn’t always take the time to quiet myself long enough to hear all of His direction. During a recent 40 day soul fast, I chose to have the noises of everyday living shut off . I limited my tv watching, radio listening, and phone conversations. In exchange I transformed my atmosphere by listening to worship music and the heart of my Savior whispering gently through my thoughts. It was the greatest experience in my Christian journey ! Welcome to our new blog!

Welcome to the premiere post of Double Portion Inspiration .  Renee and I are identical twin sisters.  We are mothers, wives, girlfiriends and all around God chicks!  We love making others laugh or just honestly telling them "how it is".  We decided to put our inspirational words into a published blog!  We are excited about this new venture.   We hope you will see or read something that will inspire and motivate you to keep GOING!  Life is crazy, overwhelming and sometimes just a "hot mess".  We choose to focus our thoughts on God, the only one who can truly handle all of our success, failures, emotions and hormones!
