My One Word for 2012

As a blogger, I often read other blogs during my quiet moments.  The other day wile reading the Praise and Coffee blog, I ran across a post that suggests throwing away New Year's resolutions and instead coming up with one word for 2012.  It immediately caught my attention because I am not a huge lover of resolutions.  Normally by the third week of January my resolutions are a thing of the past.  However, a commitment to one word seemed simple and easy.  I dug a little further to find out more about the One Word 365 movement.  Here's a quick recap from the One Word 365 website:
One word can change everything.

Forget New Year’s Resolutions. Scrap the long list of goals that you won’t remember three weeks from now anyway. Choose just one word.

One word that sums up who you want to be or how you want to live or what you want to achieve by the end of 2012.

One word that you can focus on every day, all year long.

It will take hard work, and will require commitment. But if you let it, your word will shape you and your year. It will guide your decisions and help you grow.

Discover the big impact one word can make.

One word. 365 days. A changed life.

My One Word for 2012
So here's my one word, intentional.  I vow to be intentional with my living.  You might be wondering what that really means.  It signifies that I will be deliberate and purposeful with every moment that God gives me.  In this season, I will not allow people or circumstances distract me from God's intended purpose for my life.

I will no longer permit a precious moment of my time be wasted because I can never get it back.  Each second, each minute and each hour of every day has an intended purpose and I will use discipline and perseverance to make the most of each moment.

That's my one word, what's yours?  Pray about it and leave a comment below.  (Posted by Renee)

  2. I always say that resolutions end in Feb so I dont use that word. Last year I asked God for one word to describe the year of 2011 and He gave me TRANSFORMATION. This year its OBEDIENCE. Not to say that I wont be transformed this year as I'm a constant work in progress. Let's see what happens when I too become intentional and say "YES" to God. Buckle up...
