One Word for 2013

It's hard to believe that we are eleven days into 2013.  Just a few short days ago, resolutions were made and possibly by now they are already broken.  I've never liked resolutions because in my life, they have a short shelf life.  I find it easier to commit to one word.  There's an entire community of individuals dedicating themselves to just one word of change.  Here are some thoughts to consider from the One Word website (Oneword365.com).

One word.

Because that’s easy to remember all 365 days of the year.
Not as easy is the choice to live it out. To let it shape your year. To allow it to shape you. But if you’ll let it, your One Word will become the filter through which you see and live your life. It will steer your decisions and guide your steps.

What do you want to focus on in 2013?

It can be something tangible or intangible. It can be a thought, a feeling, an action, or a character trait. Your word will be a reminder, a nudge. Something you can reflect on, that will challenge you, that will inspire you.
Your word can be anything you want it to be. All that matters is that it has personal meaning for you.

This is your word. It needs to resonate with your heart, no one else’s.

Maybe a word popped right into your head. Maybe you need to let the idea percolate a bit longer. Either way, more often than not, your word finds you.
You’ll probably have a love/hate relationship with it. That’s okay. If it doesn’t scare you at least a little, it’s probably not the right word.
So…

Here's my one word.....opportunity!

I will seize every opportunity God places in my path.  They are out there waiting for me and at the appointed time, I will run with them.  God has an awesome plan for my life and I plan to move forward by trusting Him and staying in tune with His desire for me!

Commit to your one word, and let’s walk this road together. (Posted by Renee)

  1. Opportunity is a great word. I've been thinking about a word for this year. The year is moving so quickly I probably need to hurry:-) I pray that your year is filled with many seized opportunities. Blessings.
