Our MOST Special Thanksgiving!
Today is the day when many will enjoy a feast full of incredible Fall dishes. You walk into any Thanksgiving host home and the smells of Fall enter your nostrils making you even more hungry than when you arrived.
There is so much activity that will happen around the Thanksgiving table - some people will rummage through retail circular ads planning their Black Friday shopping strategy. The tv, for some, is playing the coveted Thanksgiving Day football games. The kids will catch up swapping school stories as they countdown to Christmas break. Then there is the group that will debate the latest pop culture events and politics. In their opinion, they will solve the world’s greatest problems.
Well for Renee and I, this week has been a test of grit, resiliency, faith and a reminder of our incredible bond. I know many of you have siblings but the bond between identical twins is something short of amazing.
Renee and I can finish each other sentences. We innately cook dinner around the same time at night. We randomly wear the same outfits, even though we live in different cities. We giggle at the same jokes. We have a hidden coded language. We roll our eyes in the same way. We fiercely encourage each other during life's toughest moments. Early on my kids would call her mama and vice versa if they hadn’t looked up to see who was standing in front of them. Our mannerisms are the same, our speech equally eloquent and our face has almost identical features.
I’ve often been asked, “Do you feel her pain?”
The answer to that question has always been unequivocally YES. This week a turn of events escalated and I realized quickly that my sister, my twin, my wombate was in DEEP distress. That intuition was right and Renee ended a hospital stay just yesterday.
This Thanksgiving, Renee and I shout from the rooftop our appreciation for LIFE. This IS our MOST special Thanksgiving. We are blessed that each of us get the opportunity to live and see another day, not taking ANY part of this holiday for granted.
In that spirit, we wish each of you a day filled with laughter, food, FUN and family. Our hearts have prayed for weeks for those experiencing a different type of Thanksgiving because of death, pain and loss. God is your comforter.
We will both share our incredible journeys in upcoming blogs, but for NOW we just praise Jesus for life, health and strength. (Posted by Roslyn)

Happy Thanksgiving from our family to each of YOU!
