Throw Your Money Away?
When Roslyn and I started our blog, our sole purpose was to motivate and inspire. Whether it is nature, our kids, church, or work, we stay engaged in our lives to share our experiences and inspire our readers. The other day, inspiration came from my 4 year old.
Recently during our family reunion, his grandmother gave him a dollar bill. He was so excited to fold it up and put it in his pants pocket. I was actually surprised that he held onto it the entire weekend. Somehow the dollar became crinkled and he thought it was trash. If I didn't catch him getting ready to throw it away, he would have succeeded in his quest to get rid of the "trash". I yelled, "Jordan, no! Don't throw that away." He couldn't understand why we wouldn't throw it away like any other piece of crinkled paper. He didn't know it's value. In his eyes, it was just another piece of paper.
His actions made me think about life. Do we really understand our value? Are we willing to throw our lives away to addictions, bad habits or life outside of Christ, because of our challenges? We are so precious to God. We were created to be in relationship with Him. He desires for us to draw close to Him through prayer and devotion (commitment) so that He can reveal His purpose in our lives. God makes it clear how we are to love Him in Deuteronomy 6:5 (MSG):
I don't care what you've done, how messed up you think your life is, God loves you beyond words. We can't even comprehend the depth of His love toward us. Please don't throw away your value (life). Surrender it to God and watch Him bless you. The BEST is YET to come! (Posted by Renee)

This is such a wonderful post. We are valuable to God. No matter how we've been crushed and battered, our value remains. Great reminder.
